Welcome to Peake class. We are a Year 1 and 2 class taught by Miss Batterham and are named after the British astronaut Major Tim Peake, whom the children chose out of a number of explorers following their transition days.

Children in Peake class will be taught according to the national curriculum and will start to build a foundation of knowledge across all subjects. Children will begin to develop their independence and confidence with their learning throughout their time in Key Stage One ready for when they transition up into the next phase.

Our Phonics programme ‘SoundsWrite’ continues to be taught to pupils throughout the year, building upon where they left off last year to ensure pupils become confident and keen readers.

Our PE days will be Mondays and Fridays, primarily taught by Miss Thorne. Children will need a t-shirt and shorts (either in their bag or under joggers) for days when PE is taught indoors. Please ensure all items are clearly named so that we can return any missing items of uniform back to you promptly.
